

ZAERA GEORGE
PERCUSSIONIST/ PRODUCER/ COMPOSER
Zaera George is a Romanian-born musician and percussionist currently based in Vienna, Austria. ​​She is a very versatile artist, ranging from classical music (both as an orchestra player and as a soloist) to jazz, latino, pop, contemporary music and session recording. Her creativity, energy and determination have helped her create a long list of instruments she can play: timpani, marimba, vibraphone, drumset, congas, bongos, darbuka, snare drum, piano and many other orchestral and small percussion instruments.

Zaera appeared on stage for the first time eight years ago as a soloist with the State Philharmonic of Arad (her hometown) with which she has regularly performed in Arad, Budapest and Prague. Zaera has also played solo recitals and a sold-out marimba & piano recital at the Romanian Atheneum. She has played with the Prague Philharmonic conducted by Leoš Swarovski, the Philharmonic of Brasov conducted by Andrej Vesel and the Radio Chamber Orchestra Bucharest with conductor Radu Popa.
​Zaera has also played as a timpanist/percussionist with Cristian Macelaru, Carlos Ferreira and the Romanian Chamber Orchestra, Jordan Phillipe, Lang Lang and the Webern Symphony Orchestra, Gabriel Bebeselea and the Moldavian National Youth Orchestra at the Young Euro Classics Festival, Cristian Mandeal and the Romanian Youth Orchestra, Andres-Orozco Estrada, Fedor Rudin and the Webern Symphony Orchestra, Martin Haselböck and the Austrian-Korean Orchestra (CV on request).​​
In the Latin and Latin-jazz world, Zaera has started her activity as of 2023 and has regularly played with La Sonora, Corcovado Salsa Club and other bands, as well as with musicians like Fagner Wesley, Juan Felipe Pulido, Harold Tanschek, Marc Osterer, Laura Valbuena, Michael Seyfried.
On top of this, Zaera has gained a lot of experience recording; some of her work includes Red Bull’s album the Orchestrals 1, works for Star Wars and other movies/TV series (recorded at Synchron Stage as a fixed member of the orchestra), video recordings with Abor&Tynna for Sony Music Entertainment as a representative of Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025, other film music and latin-jazz recordings.
